The primary objective of this project was to create a smart application that can manage the health-related concerns of users. The purpose of the project was to help people keep track of their health concerns, enable remote sharing and reporting of patients’ health records by healthcare professionals and facilitate medication management. The goal was to develop technology that can provide solutions like live video consultation, health activity tracking along with healthcare data security. The terminal goal of the project was to integrate the app into wearable services with multi-device support functionality.
The client wanted app to be convenient and easy to use with features like invoicing and billing, digital signature, management of patient records, scheduling timekeeping through client CRM reporting and analytics, promotional items modification, and tracking management of caregivers.
Right from data privacy, regulatory compliances, patient consent management to design complexity and user experience, there were several challenges we faced while developing the healthcare sector app. The major challenges faced are listed below:
The healthcare application must have patient health information, medication information and follow-up information, which generates the large volume of data. Managing such a big volume of gathered is technologically challenging. The processor can be overwhelmed by the data transferred by IoT-based healthcare apps. To support large volumes of data a specialized architecture must be built. The process and design construction of the data architecture was a bit of a challenge in the initial phase of the app development process.
The application we developed had to adhere to the mandatory obligations set by the government. To develop a system according to the obligations of “The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) has many challenges. We had to develop the system comprising patient information management in an environment full of restrictions while maintaining the policies of the legislation.
The frequent changes in healthcare are brought by evolving lifestyles, the introduction of new technologies, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, to give users sustainability, development should draw solutions that combine apps with the newest and most well-known industry trends. The process of keeping up-to-date with the changes is challenging in itself. Also, it is a huge challenge to link healthcare applications with the needs of the market today.
Applications that are difficult to understand and unintuitive to use will add to users' frustration in the contemporary digital world. Developing a user-friendly application is challenging in itself. Our team had to do extra homework on UX/UI designs that would enhance user engagement as every healthcare mobile application's success is entirely based on the user experience.
The application desires to know the current state of their patients' health in real time. As a result, it facilitates a speedy diagnosis of the problem and a proactive search for the best remedy. IoT and AI have a lengthy history in the digital sphere. We had to configure and maintain a well-built cloud computing technology that provides full security for the big data being stored in the cloud.

Users can input their details and information through in-app registration. It will help to shorten the user login process and appointment wait times. To create a positive user experience, the app's login feature is made smooth and easy to access.
Patients can research a doctor's credentials and select a physician based on their preferences, personal experiences, or user evaluations. They can also decide to include other features like geolocation, which can assist patients connect with providers nearby based on their location.
The app will show the time slots available for booking an appointment. Display of open timeslot enables users to book a time that works for them. Users can receive confirmation through the app after the doctors or admin provide their approval for the appointment.
With the help of this function, upcoming appointments will be reminded to be kept and missed ones will be noted. In order to improve drug adherence, it will also send medication reminders, which will notify patients at predetermined intervals.
A crucial element of our healthcare app is secure and encrypted audio/video consultations between patients and physicians. In order to access the patient's clinical history and improve the speed of the actual process of providing healthcare, there is also a function that allows doctors to immediately access the patient's records while participating in virtual consultations. Any information gathered, saved, and sent through the app must adhere to HIPAA security and privacy regulations.
Our team also developed the features like: symptom checker and a database of verified medical information that users can access the app may start to take over as the user's go-to-source of information. The program also offers the option of emailing files for distribution. This also enables users to email documents to doctors, such as reports or clinical images, aiding in better diagnosis.
Using our app patients can easily access their medical records, as the accessibility to the online medical data and records is now more important than ever and it helps when a patient has to be referred to a specialist. Secure healthcare data sharing is a beneficial feature to have, this way, patients are empowered and also have better access to information about their health.
Patients can fill in their contact information, beneficiary details and subscription details to go through completing the subscription form. The patient can fill out an online subscription form in order to receive important updates, appointment reminders and other beneficial details.
The project made it easier for users to keep track of their individual health issues, allowing healthcare practitioners to share and report patients' health details remotely. The app also made medication administration simpler. The smart technology feature we created can provide services like real-time video consultation and tracking of health activity to unlimited users which made an impact on the life of more than 5000+ users.
